Orlando airport (MCO) car rental companies? Shuttle or not?

Has anyone rented a car from this airport using a shuttle? If so, which company is closest/fastest to the airport? Was it a hassle or take a long time to catch shuttle bus? Or should I avoid the hassle of a shuttle and pick a company that has a location at the terminal?

There are 4 or so companies righ there at the airport, and the cars are just outside in the parking garage. I know there are some places offsite, but I use Alamo which is right there.

I would pick one onsite at the airport. Alamo used to be offsite and it was a pain to have to get luggage and everyone on the shuttle and then off again and do the same on returning.

There%26#39;s Alamo, National, Avis, Budget and Dollar onsite. You can get some discount codes from the mousesavers site.

Just click on the company and try out some of the codes.

If you can,get your car at the airport-the shuttles are a pain. Alamo and National(same company) have good prices and you can check in on the computer in advance and just pick your car up,no waiting at the counter. It%26#39;s a good idea to join the loyalty program of whatever car rental company you choose too.

If you use Alamo/National here are a couple of coupon codes you can take advantage of:

Alamo:

AD3829MRB - $25 of weekly

National:

ND2119071Q - $35 off weekly

I%26#39;d estimate that you%26#39;ll need to allow 30-40 minutes to catch the shuttle bus and get to the offsite rental agency%26#39;s. And again on the way back. I think we did it only once. Wasn%26#39;t worth it for us. It%26#39;s so much easier to walk across the road and into the ramp where others are located.

There would have to be a dramatic savings to handle your lugaage two more times and endre a wait and a drive to get your. And believe the savings is NOT there. Reduce your choices to companies that are on terminal.
