Universal - how bad is it during Halloween nights?

Planning a trip Sept. 26-29th. don%26#39;t plan to go there during Halloween nights, but during the day.

will the parks be very crowded during the day on Sept 28-29 (Fri-Sat, also the first 2 nights of Halloween)?

How important will it be to stay at a Universal hotel vs. a different one? (trying to save $$) will we need the express-pass hotel people get?

Also, my elderly mom may join us, how are Universal with people on wheelchairs? Are all rides accessible? (she can walk a few steps from the chair to the ride if needed)

During the day the parks are not too bad you should be able to get on most rides ok without an express pass, however if you can avoid the weekend it is much better, try to get to the parks as early as possible

If you are trying to save $ then find a hotel near, I always stay at the Hilton in American way. about 1 mile from Universal entrance ( just off I drive ) and it is about $99 a night,

Universal are very good with wheelchair access on most rides.

Stayed at Hard Rock Hotel last Haloween which was expensive but good fun - parties in the hotel etc. The parks weren`t busy during the day but a lot of people arrived for the evening festivities.
