You get restaurant and merchandise discounts all over the parks and downtown Disney. There are a few other local merchants that participate as well. The discounts vary but they range from 10% to 20% depending on the merchant.
You also get a small magazine with seasonal discount information that appears to not be specific to pass holders, but may not be widely publicized. There is also a pass holder web site with more details.

Disney also frequently announces special discounted hotel rates for annual passholders, which can be pretty good (such as $175 per night for some of the deluxe hotels). In addition, for either $50 or $75 (I forget which), annual passholders can buy the Disney Dining Experience card, which gets you 20% off virtually all full-service meals at Disney parks and resorts. If you stay at the Deluxe resorts, the hotel discounts can end up paying for the annual pass. Even without the hotel discounts, the DDE card alone can save you quite a bit if you like to eat in the nicer restaurants.
