Need advice on Best Western oceanfront - cocoa beach

We%26#39;ve booked a stay of two nights for October 2007 at the Best Western through an online site (nonrefundable rate). Since I booked the hotel I%26#39;ve found out there%26#39;s two sections of the hotel - a tower and the two-story building. Are the rooms in the tower that much nicer vs. the two-story area? I called to see about upgrading the room to an oceanfront room (not a suite). They want to charge an extra $50 per night for the upgrade! That%26#39;s getting close to what I paid for the basic room itself. So, my questions are 1- is it worth it to upgrade to the tower? 2- has anyone been upgraded once they check in? And if so, were you charged and how much?

Thanks in advance.

We IN FACT go in October as well !! , sorry to hear they upped the ante%26#39; for the ocean front fee... I recall paying 169 +tax for one night in 02 at BW.

... tell ya what .. here%26#39;s my resorts%26#39; phone number, this place is about 2 miles south of The Best Western. In October its not like the summer traffic, so availability for short stays at a Condo resort - you might be able to get for the same price per night.!

How would you like a condo unit ocean front instead? Can you get your money back if you cancel at Best Western? - If you answered yes to both those questions, call

800 -323- 8413 , or 321-783 9430 , hit %26#39;0%26#39; for the front desk,

Ask about prices for a unit in the ';C or D building (DO not settle for 1st floor unit as vegetation along the beach property ajacent to the condo property has grown tall and block the ocean view) ... tellem a timeshare owner told you to inquire..

I have stayed in a tower room. Wasn%26#39;t a suite, just reg room. Had a microwave and a small %26#39;fridge. Tower rooms have a private balcony, with a direct view of the beach and ocean. I think the view is the only big difference, so if a balcony, and beach/ocean view is worth the extra $$ to you then go for it. It really is a nice view.

If you check out the candid photos of the hotel on this website you will find some are actually from the beach front, this should tempt you to upgrade.I intend posting mine over the weekend so they should be on late next week.

By the waty the 2 storey blocks dont have a view from what i remember. Some may have a slight view of the beach.
