Has anyone just returned from Destin?

We are going to Destin in 29 days. I was just wondering if anyone out there in cyberspace has recently returned from Destin and what was your most memorable time? Thanks! BarB

Has anyone just returned from Destin?

I%26#39;ve just returned home from there after a 5 day stay, but....I was there for work.

So my most memorable experience was the smoked prime rib at McGuires, along with a few of their freshly brewed beers.

Has anyone just returned from Destin?

We will be there in 23 days and I can already tell you my most memorable time- it is the same each time we go: being on the beach first thing in morning as the sun is rising, watching the waves, hearing the surf, watching the birds- it is the most peaceful happy feeling I know and beats anything and everything else that happens on the trip!

We just got back last Saturday. We had a great time, and all the times are memorable. Mostly loved walking on the beach in the morning and looking at how beautiful and clear the water was, how clean and white the sand was (great for walking barefoot), and feeling how warm the water was. You could stay in that water all day!! Loved to wach the waves from our beach house porch.

Last week of July:

I rented one of those Scoot cars from that little place in Frangista Beach right on Scenic 98. Can%26#39;t think of the name, but they rent bikes, dune buggies, scooters, motorcycles and those little Scoot cars.

The scoot car is a little 2 seat, 3 wheel thing with what sounds like a lawn mower engine on it. But, it got up to about 35 mph. My 9 and 11 year old daughters had a ball in it. We went up and down Scenic 98 and back through the Crystal Beach neighborhood. Other folks on scooters and scoot cars are honking at you, people are pointing and laughing. You feel ridiculous, but the kids loved it.

Good times, good times.

last week of july also

we had a great time, we stayed in our camper at camping on the gulf. it was awesome! I loved the dolphin cruise, loved watching the kids having fun snorkeling and finding sand dollars. it was beautiful!!

I just returned from Destin...and the best moments were those spent at the beach...we did the touristy restaruants and checked out the beautiful malls but the beach is really what it is all about...so amazing!! It was not that crowded at all so I imagine you will have a wonderful time since you are heading down a little later!

Just returned from Destin this week. For us the best time is always the beautiful relaxing beach, great fishing, great food and just relaxing.

We tend to not ';do'; much of anything when we go on vacation. Typical day is coffee on balcony, walk on beach, fix breakfast, pack coolers for beach, nap/read/peoplewatch/snorkel/swim/etc on the beach, shower, cocktails, dinner, walk on beach, bed.

Day two...start all over again. We do throw in some shopping/eating trips to Seaside, fishing, etc., but we%26#39;re probably very boring to most people. Ha!!

Just came back yesterday. It was our (wife + two daughters) time in Destin and it was great! The ocean was clear, water was very clear and warm. There were some jellies for couple of days but it didn%26#39;t bother us too much. Went to Dewey%26#39;s, McGuire%26#39;s (twice), Fudpuckers (will not return there again) and stayed on the beach for most of the 9 days. We stayed at Holiday Inn and had an ocean front room which was pretty expensive and small (but the view can%26#39;t be beat!).

Just a quick Thank You for all of your comments! Looks like we are gonna spend alot of time on the beach!! Maybe rent a scoot car! haha

Its great reading about what you really liked doing. Thx again! BarB
