Dive Resort

My husband and I are planning to visit KW for the 1st time in November. Can anyone suggest a decent resort/hotel that has a dive shop/boat on premises.

I don%26#39;t personally know of any. There are dive shops close to hotels, but I%26#39;m not sure that there are any directly on a hotel grounds. I could be wrong.

Dive Resort

The Hyatt on the north side has a dock in front of it from which the South Point Divers go out. I don%26#39;t think Southpoint is actually associated with the Hyatt, but staying there, or really any of the five hotels along the north side, would make going divng with Southpoint very conveninet. Walkable from the hotel to the boat. And you could choose any of a dozen B%26amp;B%26#39;s that are close to them.

Southpoint does their pool lesson for a Resport Dive (no certification) at the Casa Marina which is another possibility as they are associated with Sunset Watersports. But the Casa has been going under major renovations and won%26#39;t be complete by Nov.

The other hotels, from west to east, are the Westin, Ocean Key, Pier House, Hyatt, and Galleon. The Ocean Key and Pier House straddle Duval Street, to give you a refenece point. And Southpoint is here...

There are none as you described in Key West. The closest ';dive resort'; would be the Looe Key resort. The diving can be awesome there, but the rooms are the pits.

Key West isn%26#39;t really a dive destination per se%26#39;. There is decent diving here, but not great diving. Key Largo is really the place that specializes in diving. The middle keys also offer some outstanding diving, but you have to find a good captain to get to the best spots.

Unlike the Caymans or other dive destinations, there is no shore diving here at all (in case you were going to ask).

The best diving in the Keys is at Looe Key but the Looe Key Dive Resort is a real ';dive';. I would suggest that you not stay there.

Stay at any hotel or B%26amp;B,rent a car and drive to Looe Key Dive Center. It%26#39;s a good place to go diving with,the staff is very nice and so is the boat.
