Just started planning today and need help please :)

We just returned from Disneyland on Monday and I have decided to plan a trip for next November to Disneyworld.

I started at the Disneyworld website and the package I selected for room/tickets and a basic food plan came to 15,000 for 10 days? Is this right? Does it really cost 1500/day to stay on site?

A few tips for planning would be greatly appreciated. A few specific questions I have are:

1- How far in advance would you recommend booking?

2- How long would you recommend staying for a relaxed not rushed holiday? Is 10 days enough?

3- What booking method would you recommend?

I tried searching through the prior posts but didn%26#39;t seem to have much luck.

TIA !!!

You could spend $1500 per day, but it%26#39;s not necessary.

1. Most folks begin booking anywhere from 9 to 12 months away, if rates are available for that time. Dining can be booked 180 days ahead of time.

2. You could probably see all of Disney and many more things in 10 days time. However, you may not need that long either. Do you plan on doing only Disney or do you want to venture outside the Disney property?

3. Booking methods vary, but since you are from Vancouver, you may want to check out Mapleleaftickets.com.

There are three categories of resorts at WDW: Deluxe, moderate, and value. The cost of deluxe resorts are much, much higher than moderates and values and staying in them could cost you $500 or more per night. If the resort isn%26#39;t that important, check out the different categories for amenities you want.

Also, the type of tickets you can buy vary dramatically in price. Base tickets are much less than hopper tickets. Adding the ';water parks and more'; option also costs extra. You could save significant money by purchasing the base tickets.

Here%26#39;s a great website for checking out all things Disney:

As you probably already know from your disneyland trip , you don%26#39;t spend much time in your room between the parks shopping and the pool , so why spend big on a room , look into value priced rooms , they are a little smaller than moderate or luxury but how much space do you need to wash and sleep .

No, it does not need to cost $1,500 per day to stay at Disney, even if staying in deluxe resorts and eating very well at the better restaurants. I suspect that you have been looking at some really over-inclusive packages. Try looking first at the room rates alone for the hotels you want, then the rates for the type of ticket you would most likely need. 10 days would certainly let you have a relaxing vacation. While I have never done the dining plan myself, lots of people say it is way too much food - and that might get old for 10 days.

An 8 day ticket base ticket with several waterpark days (or other extras) would cost less than $30 per day per person $120 per day for 4 people. Even with $500 per day for a deluxe hotel room, that%26#39;s about $880 less per day than the figure you were quoted - and you%26#39;d have to try really hard to spend anything close to that every day for meals.

.

Check out www.allearsnet.com for lots of Disney information, including hotel and ticket prices, restaurant menus and reviews, and much, much, more.

And if you are doing Universal Parks as well, look into staying off site.

a deluxe Villa or condo isn%26#39;t going to cost you more than 120-150 per night.

If that isn%26#39;t what you want to do, look into staying in Lake Buena Vista at one of the resort hotels like the Hilton, Hyatt Grand Cypress etc.

It really depends on how many parks %26amp; other stuff you intend to do with regard to whether 10 days is enough. Personally I would say no it isn%26#39;t. We found on our recent trip that even 14 nights/13 days is a bit too rushed %26amp; you get few rest days to recover or chill out if you go to all the different parks!

Bare in mind that if you only spend a day at each park there are 8 of them if you include Busch Gardens! And then of course there is also Kennedy Space Centre %26amp; other places like Silver Springs or Gatorland or Cyprus Gardens! Not to mention choice of at least 3 waterparks!

We ended up with 9 days at parks %26amp; that was only having time to do one park over 2 days(EPCOT). Then we went to a waterpark one day %26amp; had 3 rest days!!

PS Even squeezing in shopping was a nightmare!

I wouldn%26#39;t get the park hopper option if it%26#39;s your first time. That%26#39;s seems to work better for veterans who know what they want to see (and what to skip), how the transportation works, etc. That saves money.

Also, if you do one park a day, you probably won%26#39;t need days to rest in between. Some parks don%26#39;t take all day, so on those days you could rest in the late afternoon/evening after you%26#39;re done. If you%26#39;re only going to Disney and not any off-site parks, I doubt you would need 10 days.

I%26#39;m sorry but I really don%26#39;t really agree with ILovePhilly, I have been 5 times, both in busy %26amp; quieter periods %26amp; even if you are missing Thanks Giving week, I think it is impossible to get round most of the parks in under a day, unless you cut out loads of shows or rides%26amp; detail.

Also even in the most comfortable foot wear you are still on your feet an awfull lot %26amp; there need the time in between to recouparate!

It is certainly possible to do Disney in less than 10 days. I have never been for more than a week, and usually go for less. (But then again, I%26#39;ve gone many times, and don%26#39;t need to do everything each time.) However, I think 10 days would be ideal for a leisurely trip, if you can do that.

Vancouver - don%26#39;t be talked out of staying on Disney property. There is nothing like it, and it really helps make your trip a real, very relaxing vacation, instead of a series of long days at amusement parks.

Look at mousesavers.com, they have a lot of good Disney discounts.
