Trip report part 2, its finally here.

SUNDAY.

Went to Seaworld today as we had made dinner reservations for the dine with Shamu dinner and then had reserved seats for the Shamu rocks show. Headed for Kracken, hubby went on it, I waited in the scorching sun for him. Went and fed the sharks and the sea lions. Enjoyed feeding the sea lions as they ‘bark’ like mad at you as soon as you appear with their food. Watched the dolphin show and the pirate’s show. Would recommend the pirates show as it is quite funny. Did Polar bear expedition, we chose to fly. There is walking option and I wish I’d chosen that one!! The dine with Shamu dinner was lovely and would highly recommend it. Its an all you can eat buffet and there is loads to chose from, and as for the sweets, well they were just delicious. All drinks are free too and after a delicious meal and a couple of cold buds we made our way to the show. The show is very good and the music is great, but I did wonder what effect all that loud music has on the whales.

MONDAY.

The day I had been waiting for, we were off to the mall at millennia. Got a taxi and paid about $15.00. This place really is fantastic. Did level 1 first and loved Nemin Marcus. Headed straight for the shoe section as previous research had revealed they sold Manola Bolnhicks. Was told I could either have a pair of these or Jimmy Choos, oh what is a girl to do!! Anyway, found a gorgeous pair and opted for Manola’s. Finished off level one and went to the cheese cake factory for lunch. Too full to try the cheese cake so decided we would come back before we left for the day and get some then. Off we went to level 2. Got lots of bargains and then went into Tiffany’s. Seen a beautiful necklace in there, but nearly passed out when the sales man told us it was $11.000. As this was way out of my price range, we left and headed across to the Jimmy Choo shop, all the while the hubby is telling me I’m not getting any as I’ve just got a pair of Manola’s! Anyway went in and proceeded to get the 5 star treatment form the sales girl. Left hubby sat on the couch and off I was trying loads of shoes on. Now normally in shops you can tell my husband is eager to get out, but this time he seemed quite happy to be sat in there, very strange I thought!! What was even more strange was when I seen a pair I liked he said get them if you want them!! Un be known to me he was actually sat in the same shop as a sporting hero of his, so he was quite happy to be sat there in his presence. Decided on the white shoes with the new signature heal and then the sales girl started showing me bags. A resounding NO came from the hubby, but there half price I said. Still he said NO. That was until the sporting superstars wife said “Oh get her one there in the sale”. Well he didn’t dare so no to her, so I got the bag too. How lucky am I?? Since then he’s never stopped talking abut the day he was in the Jimmy Choo shop with ?????????. Finished off in Bloomingdales and then went for the cheese cake. I must say this place really is worth the praise it gets on this forum. Had a quiet night on I-drive and ate in CafĂ© Tu Tu Tango.

TUESDAY.

Got the free coach to universal studios. Really enjoyed this park. Did twister, Shrek and ET and loved them all. Hubby did the mummy and men in black. He liked the mummy but was board on men in black. Went to see the beetlejuice grave show and thought it was great. Had a light lunch in Finnegan’s Irish bar and had an evening meal in the NBA restaurant. Finished off in city walk listening to a live band. And having a couple of cold buds.

WEDNESDAY.

Decided to have a sleep in as we hadn’t had a lazy day yet. Went to the Florida mall on the afternoon, was ok and got a few more bargains. This mall would have been better if it wasn’t for the stalls running down the centre of the mall corridors as the sales girls dive on you to sell their gear. Had lunch in the Mexican near to Macey’s. Night time was on I-Drive. Ate in the Black Angus steak house, and had the most tastiest steak I have ever had in my life. Food and service was excellent. Parents and Niece had flown in by then, so met up with them at the English bar across the road. They were eating in the sizzler so walked to there first to tell them we were off for a drink. However, when we got there everyone in there was standing up and looking at the floor. They were all searching for a cockroach, and then the thing appeared. It was huge and the staff were not the least bit interested. Had a couple of drinks in the English bar and then hubby went on the sling shot. I chose to watch with me being a wimp.

THURSDAY.

Hadn’t been around the pool yet so spent the morning there. Went off to Kissimmee on the afternoon for the bike meeting. I went on the bull, what a laugh. Couldn’t get my leg over the thing so had to be pushed on the thing by the guy who looks after it. Got pushed on and slid straight off the other end. This happened twice. Third time, eventually managed to stay on the thing and then it started, and I lasted all of 5 seconds. Back on again for another go and managed to last about 10 seconds. Hubby went on the sky coaster, it’s the tallest one in the world, and said it was one of the best rides in Orlando, he thinks nothing could ever beat it. Went to a local bar and watched the bikes. There were hundreds of them and we had a fantastic night there. The atmosphere is great and there was a live band on in the bar. Got a taxi there and back and it cost us $70.00.

FRIDAY.

Went to MGM on the lean too bus. We both think this was our least favourite of the parks. Hubby did tower of terror and rock and roll coaster. I waited in the sun for him. Did all the usual stuff, but chose Indian Jones over the car stunt show, wish we hadn’t bothered. Our only regret was we had to miss the micky show as the lean too bus was picking us back up at 8. But never mind its something to look forward to when we go back. Finished the night in the hotel pool bar.

SATURDAY.

Our last full day and spent it at universal. Did the studios on the morning and went on earthquake as missed it when we were there last time. Did a few more rides and then went to IOA on the afternoon. My god were the queues big. Each ride was in excess of 60 minute wait time, the water rides were even longer. Needless to say we never got much done at this park. Headed off to hotel to meet parents and niece for a meal as it was our last night. Had meal with them and then went for our last couple of cold buds in the pool bar.

SUNDAY.

Major panic as couldn’t get everything in the cases and I had taken an empty one with me, so had to go by another case. Set off for the airport, everything ok there, plane delayed 30 minutes. Flight home was good, but service was poor, much better going out. Eventually arrived in England at about 6 Monday morning and got home at about 9ish.

All in all had a fantastic time and both looking forward to going again. Will do things differently next time as wont stay on I-Drive again but will opt for one of the Disney parks. As this gives you the option of going back to the hotel during the day and returning at night. An added bonus of this is I wont never have to get on the lean too bus again and pay the coach costs. We would also give ourselves some rest time as I think we tried to do too much and are now still feeling the effects. And nothing prepares you for the sheer heat.

Well hope I haven’t bored you all too much. xx

So glad you both got your fill of thrills, you with the shopping and hubby with the rides. There really is something for everyone in Orlando.

Loved reading your report - come on you have to tell us who the sports star was.

Would you not consider car hire next time? - it really does give you so much more freedom.

You are a tease, not saying the sportsmans name.
