Gulf Coast Honeymoon on a budget (Bilmar/Sunset Vistas??)

Hi,

I am getting married next March 29th, and I am looking for a good upscale but reasonably priced resort/hotel/accomodation along the gulf coast. I have been looking at St.Pete beach, Treasure Island, Siesta Key etc. So far the Bilmar looks good at about $1070 for gulf view for 4 nights. And Sunset Vistas is around $1300 for four nights.

We really want a place on the beach with a pool and a beach side bar, not overrun by families but also not overun by college kids. I know this is asking alot but if you have any suggestions that would be great.

Thanks, Nick

Check out the Island Inn also. It is ocean front, has a pool with a bar. No dining room or restaurant though. Check out their ';staterooms'; these are ocean front efficiencies with terrace and a small kitchenette. The view of the beach and the sunsets from the terrace is gorgeous.. Avoid the bayfront rooms and suites. You would have a view over part of the bay and the sunrise, but you will be facing the Gulf Boulevard with high traffic and lots of traffic noise. On the oceanside you will only hear the waves of the gulf.

In St. Pete%26#39;s Beach the Don Cesar is just wonderful, but pricey. I am sure no spring breakers here.

The Tradewinds Resorts also in St. Pete%26#39;s are famous for their children%26#39;s activities, so they will attract a lot of families with kids of all ages.

Besides Siesta Key you could also check out Lido Key in the Sarasota area which would put you into walking distance of St. Amand%26#39;s Circle with all its shops, restaurant, bars and entertainment.

Have a great time.

PS: The area has a website www.floridasbeach.com. If you have not already checked it out, I can recommend it. On that site you can also order a printed brochu\re which a lot of information (honeymoon, shelling, excursion) that are not included on the website.

Hello.

Plaza beach resort on St. Pete beach. Can%26#39;t go wrong with one of the four rooms @ the end of the hotel. Those four open up onto the beach. No bar so no noise @ night. Walk down the beach to other hotel bars. Now thats the ticket.
