Luggage Allowance with Monarch

Has anyone flown with Monarch recently? what i their luggage allowance policy?

Luggage Allowance with Monarch

Hi nicci, im flying with monarch in sept, If you%26#39;ve booked a package deal your travel agent should tell u sometimes it%26#39;s 20kg or 15kg we%26#39;ve booked direct holidays and ours is 20kg. On monorchs website it says 20kg but u can combine it as long as it dosnt exceed 32kg eg: me and my husband will only take one case between us so we can combine our allowance so it could be say 25kg.

Luggage Allowance with Monarch

i am in 3 weeks they changed my mytravel flight

im so worried about the baggage!!

Hi Nicci in Northampton!

We fly with Monarch in 7 days - got tickets last week and it states only 15kg each! We have been used to 30kgs each with Virgin. However, have learnt that I take too many clothes and am %26#39;finalising%26#39; my piles of clothes on the spare bed today before they get packed in the case.

Take the minimum re. toiletries since you can buy everything so cheaply there.

Happy holiday!

We have flown with Monarch and had to pay excess coming back so just a tip, due to small allowance allowed buy a bag maximum size for hand luggage they never weigh it and take it on board with you, going with virgin this time double the allowance have reduced clothes going out to minimum needed and will buy over there. Only 19 more sleeps ....laura

My gosh! 15kg! thats a joke for a 2 week holiday! thats what you;d take over a weekend! I am really starting to panic about what i can bring back now....how much will it cost if we go over this?

Hi NAG_15,

I think the allowance may differ between tour op%26#39;s.

Who is your Tour Operator, i.e Cosmos , AirTours etc.

BA we get 46KG EACH

but whether the luggage arrives at the same destimation thats another matter.....LOL

Hi Nicci

We booked flight only with a travel agent we found on-line, flightsdirect.com . I understand Thomas Cook are selling the seats even though it is a Monarch flight - we paid about 拢309 each including tax which is pretty reasonable. Probably why our allowance is so grim!

Normally fly with Virgin but even with some of our Virgin Miles thrown in, the tickets were coming out at about 拢400 each inc tax. We booked at the end of May.

Are you staying in a hotel or villa, Nicci?

We stay in my brother%26#39;s villa which is on Calabay Parc (15 mins from Disney) and have found we only need to take a few pairs of shorts and t-shirts each since we can wash and dry everything really quickly and easily.

Hi we are flying with Monarch this year for the first time into Sanford departing 09.00 on the 20/09 .

Not sure of allowance yet but at 278 return I do not mind paying a little extra for excess

incidently this was booked through Broadway travel who we have usd before and had some good deals

Nicci uk; Do not bank on them not weighing your carry on. they will add it to your checked in luggage weight , and Charge you 拢10 per Kg..excess On TDC you can buy double luggage for 拢15 per person in your group. on My Travel you can buy an extra 5kg excess for 拢45 each way.

The best way is only to take 4 shirts 4 shorts, 7 lots of under wear. only 1 extra pair of shoes , or buy a pair of Crocs when you get there. Only a traveling size of shampoo etc. no electric items or towels. and use a light holdall bag , not a case that weighs 4-7 Kg empty .

With your swim gear and a box of Bold 2 in One wash tabs to wash clothes out you can travel with 7-8 Kg . and come back with 15kg .

Weigh your packed bag on the bathroom scales when packed.

If it weighs your limit going, open it and empty half out.

I only pack half the wife puts out , and leave the other half on the spare bed. They are already washed and ironed ready to be put away when we get home.

Traveling with only 15 Kg is easy when you get the hang of it,

But its a mean allowance to travel with, And its laid down by the Airlines not Travel agents.
