Cost of dinners/lunches/breakfasts at Tradewinds Island Gran

My husband, our 12 year old, 3 year old and I are staying at the Tradewinds Island Grand Resort. Can anyone tell me what types of food and prices we can find at the resort for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Or can anyone suggest and restraunts near the Tradewinds that would be good for a family to go to. The resort has advertisements that look very good, but I was just wondering about pricing for 3 meals a day for a family of 4. Thank You.

Pip,

I haven%26#39;t stayed at the Tradewinds but you will be spoilt for choice for places to eat around St Pete, I doubt you would want to spend all your time eating at the hotel anyway.

Have a look at my Inside Page on dining options in St Pete.

For family dining try Skidders, Silas%26#39;s Steakhouse, Beverley%26#39;s La Croisette on Corey Avenue (for breakfast), Shells in the Travelodge, there are many more.

The Hurricane on Pass-a-Grille or Sea Critters cafe are also good.

You can access all these places via the beach trolley, Skidders and Silas%26#39;s are within walking distance of your hotel.

Prices are very reasonable at the places I have mentioned, all of these places are informal places for family dining.

The chains are also well represented on the beach, McDonalds, Chick-fil-a, Subway, 7-11 for snacks, Publix supermarket in Dolphin Plaza for drinks etc.

There are also a couple of Thai restaurants nearby, Italians, and a mexican next to the Travelodge.

Any further info, post again.

Enjoy!

Great Thank You So Much!!! I looked into these restraunts and The Hurricane looks wonderful! Thank you again!!!

We just returned from the Tradewinds Island Grand. Though food was on the expensive side it is a resort, so you should expect it. We had the 20% off discount card for all drinks/food though. The Flying Bridge has good food - nice beach/grille type fare. Bermudas was nice for breakfast - a bit pricey but good. $12.99 for buffet.

I personally don%26#39;t agree with ';glamorpuss'; regarding Silas - in our opinion it was awful. The food is overpriced and the service in general needs alot to be desired. It was not a steak meal we enjoyed. Both kids burgers actually crunced they were so burnt, along with both our steaks.

Go to Skidders across the street. It%26#39;s a diner type menu with absolutely everything. We ate there twice, but would have more if we%26#39;d have tried it earlier in our stay. Servers are very friendly and helpful. Food was great - pizza was delicious too.

Beverleys is very good to had lunch and dinner there.

Go to Twistee Treat for icecream - it was really good.

Also, The Hut in Madiera Beach, John%26#39;s Pass Boardwalk - was great - nice atmosphere and good food.

Enjoy!

GQ,

You must have been unlucky, I am sorry- we visit Silas%26#39;s every time we visit St Pete and have never been disappointed-the steaks are always cooked the way we want them, we always enjoy our visit.

Skidders is great, always busy, glad you liked Beverley%26#39;s.

We have been to the TWIG twice, for me the best restaurant is the Flying bridge.

Crabby Bills is fantastic, you have to get their king crab special, it was to die for. The hurricane also was neat, we didn%26#39;t eat there, but had a drink on the roof overlooking the sunset, a must see. Resort food is overpriced and not very good in my opinion. Also, the undertow had great hot wings and lots of other VERY cheap food...the trouble is finding the place!
