Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge-Moved to another resort

Hello. I currently have a reservation at the Poly in December, but am now considering the Animal Kingdom Lodge for a change of pace. I have heard rumors of guests being moved to another hotel due to construction closures at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Any truth to this? I would hate to give up the Poly only to be bumped from the AKL and not be able to get it back. Thanks in advance.

I don%26#39;t know about being moved...but the hotel is FANTASTIC!!! If you are travelling with kids or without, there%26#39;s lots to do and it%26#39;s beautiful. Each night they have a fire pit outside, where a African native tells Folk Stories. Also at night, near the flamingo pond, they hand out night goggles to see the animals. If you have kids, there are kid games, cookie decorating, scavenger hunts, animal tracking excursions...all free. Very cool. Pool is warm, big, and has a slide. Two hot tubs, pool bar, buffet food court right by the pool, etc. You will definately enjoy it. If you are concerned, call the hotel directly and ask them what the chances of being moved actually are. Good luck.

They are doing major construction work at AKL during the day between 9am and 5pm. We were booked to stay there but after a letter from our travel agent about the construction we decided not to take the chance and moved to Port Orleans FQ. We were really looking forward to staying at AKL. I did contact the hotel directly and they said it shouldn%26#39;t affect our stay, it probably is worthwhile checking again with the hotel and looking at some of the hotel reviews on www.allears.net, then you would have the up to date picture.

Enjoy your trip.

Thanks for the advice. I did call the hotel last night and spoke to two people who assured me that we would not be moved. I have stayed at the Polynesian before so I knew what kind of room to request. We have decided on the savanna view at the AKL. Does any one have any recommendations as to where I should request my room? We want to see LOTS of animals and I know that some locations are better than others. I love getting advice from you! Thanks in advance.

Nny savannah room is fine, they move the animals from one part to another...to clean, etc..so at some point, you%26#39;ll see animals. If you choose not to book a savanah room, often you will get upgraded to one anyway...mosy rooms face animals...there are some however that face the parking lot. Even if you don%26#39;t get a room facing the animals..there are many places throughout the hotel for viewing. You can sit down, relax and watch them roam. It is nice however to wake up in the morning and look out your windoe and see animals walking around. Either way,,,it%26#39;s great.
