Do we need to rent a car?

My wife and I are planning to fly in to St. Augustine Municipal Airport via the new service on Skybus. We plan to find a B%26amp;B in the old town area for three nights and are wondering if we need to rent a car to see the historic sites in town. How far is the airport from the old town area? Any idea what a cab ride would cost from the airport to the old town area.? We don%26#39;t want to rent a car if all we are going to do is park it and then walk to most of the places worth seeing.

The airport is only 4 miles north of the center of St Augustine so as you can imagine the cab fare is not much. The town is small and it doesn%26#39;t take three days to see it. There are multiple B%26amp;Bs in the old town and you can easily walk to sites, or take one of the sightseeing hop on / hop off trollies (recommended). There are also some B%26amp;Bs a tad far from the center of town so find out how far it is to St. George%26#39;s St which is what I consider the heart of the tourist section. With time on your hands you might want to rent a car for a day to explore a bit of the coastal area north or south.

Great to have you nice folks from Ohio coming down!

Enjoy your visit.

A cab will cost about $10. from the airport. No need to rent a car if you are indeed going to be in the historic district. Can walk to all and the trolley will take you to the out of town sites, i.e. lighthouse, alligator farm, beach. Enjoy !

Thanks for the helpful info. We are looking forward to visiting St. Augustine.
